Experiencing the value and necessity of volunteers is something that as a teacher, Susan can attest to first-hand . Giving back to the community took on new relevance as she embarked on her journey as an entrepreneur. Her business has introduced Susan to another world of people, wonderful people, both clients and acquaintances who hve enriched her life in numerous ways.

The decision to give back was largely in response to these people. “So many people offered me assistance since the very start of my new career that the feeling of gratitude overwhelms me. The further into my career I move, the more I see giving back as a natural extension of my work. “Giving, just feels good. It’s a way of life. My parents role modelled this as I grew up so for me, it’s the only way. In some small way I hope to inspire others to do the same. “
If you can, why wouldn’t you?”

And it reflects what she really believes: It takes a village to raise a child. “I love the idea of working together towards a common goal; none of us has achieved anything totally on our own. For me, it’s important to remember that every day.
